Dr Jan Paul Rotinen Diaz obtained his Specialist qualifications as Rehabilitation Physician in 2005 (Spain). After years of overseas practice as fully qualified specialist, Dr Rotinen Diaz moved to Australia and became a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Dr Rotinen Diaz continues to be a Certified Member (by examination) of the European Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and holds active membership of the International Society of Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPMR) and the European Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ESPMR).
Because of his multicultural background (Finnish and Spanish) he is completely fluent in Spanish and English and has ample international experience in all areas of Rehabilitation Medicine. He has developed a special interest in conservative management of Musculoskeletal disorders, fractures in the Elderly and Multi-Trauma, Post-surgical rehabilitation and pain management, Neurorehabilitation (Acquired Brain injury, Stroke, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, etc..), Amputation and Cancer and Reconditioning post illness.
Dr Rotinen Diaz works alongside the acute surgical and medical teams and provides rehabilitation services to critically ill and injured patients facilitating their recovery and safe discharge. He is specially focused on ensuring optimal pain relief and anxiety control before, during and after the rehabilitation program.
Dr Rotinen Diaz is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) and routinely conducts Independent Medicolegal Assessments. As Senior Lecturer of the Queensland University, Dr Rotinen Diaz oversees Medical students during clinical rotations. Dr Rotinen Diaz is also an accredited Supervisor for Rehabilitation Medicine Registrars.
Dr Rotinen Diaz admits patients to Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and Mater Private Hospital Redland and also coordinates Day therapy programs on both locations.
